Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Dobby (formerly Acorn)
Say hello to Dobby! This adorable 5-month-old pup earned his new name because of his uncanny resemblance to the beloved elf from Harry Potter. But don’t worry—this little guy doesn’t need socks to feel free—just a forever family to love him!
Dobby is a sweet and well-behaved puppy who has made great strides with potty pad training and is learning to go outside, though he’s still working on being fully housebroken. He’s already mastered the “Sit” and “No” commands, proving he’s a quick learner.
What makes Dobby extra special is his wonderful puppy manners. He doesn’t chew on furniture and is content with his toys and chewies. That said, he might be tempted by a cozy pair of slippers if given the chance!
Dobby loves playing fetch with his foster parents and romping around outside with his four furry foster siblings. But his absolute favorite activity? Snuggling up for hours on end. He’s the ultimate cuddle companion, ready to warm your heart and lap.
If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and oh-so-adorable addition to your family, Dobby might just be your perfect match! 🐾
Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . More about this rescue
We are a small 501 C3 nonprofit rescue located in Elburn, Illinois. In 2014, Safe Haven Dog Rescue became its own non-profit. We are licensed by the Illinois Agriculture Department.
The majority of our dogs and puppies are pulled from Kill Pounds and Shelters in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Illinois. We also accept local medical cases as often as our finances will allow.
Please take a few moments to read the stories about the dogs and puppies we have available for adoption. We disclose everything we know about the dogs, sometimes we know a lot often we know only that they were strays, thrown away on the side of the road, in the woods, or found in abandoned houses.
While we don’t always know their past we are certain that their future is much brighter.
We hope that you and your family are part of the future…..
