Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet the Ham. Or as it says on his resume Mister Johnathon Hambone.
If you can`t tell from his photo, this guy knows how to work a crowd. If you`re looking to add showstopper to your family, Ham is the guy for you. Not afraid to remind you when it`s his time to shine by perking up those ears or flashing a little bit of a two step pitter patter, he will be sure to always make sure he is the main character.
Ham`s adoption fee includes his neuter, age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, heartworm test, and initial deworming. At about a year old, Ham currently weighs about 65lbs, but being built with cute stubby legs, you would never guess it! (We`re convinced his weight is in all the hamming and cheesing he does!)

Our adoptions are processed same day! All we ask is for an adoption questionnaire and survey to be completed as well as a copy of the adopter's state ID in order to assure they are at least 18 years old.
Each animal has a fee which must be paid at the time of adoption and there is a small amount of paper to be completed as well.
We ask that adopted animals safely leave the shelter either in a carrier or in a leash and collar.
All adoptable animals have been spayed/neutered, received, age appropriate vaccinations, and a microchip! Cats have been tested for FIV and FeLV. Dogs have been tested for heartworm as well as kept current on flea and heartworm prevention.

More about this shelter
The Wood County Humane Society was originally founded in 1904, and has been committed to the well-being of many different species of domesticated animals that require our help. In 1988, the Minniebelle Conley Shelter was established through the generous legacy of the Minniebelle Conley Trust, and our current location was built to provide these services, and has continually been doing so since. We are a private, non-profit, limited admission, 501(c) (3) organization and rely on the generous contributions and donations of our members and residents of Wood County. We do not receive any funding from the ASPCA or the Humane Society of the United States for our daily operations.
