How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner.

Why this pet is the one for you:
This is Milkshake! Rabbits are intelligent and complex animals who bond well with each other - and their humans! The best way to bond with rabbits is to spend time with them on the floor, and shower them with plenty of greens and Timothy hay! Domestic rabbits like this little one, should be kept inside as house rabbits. A single rabbit will need an area that is no less than 4x4 feet (like a wire exercise dog pen) of floor space to live, but more is always better! Please visit our friends at San Diego House Rabbit Society to learn even more about caring for rabbits! https://rabbit.org/resources/for-new-owners/

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2):
Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2) is a highly contagious disease affecting rabbits.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
