My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This blue eyed cutie is named Koda. Koda is easily a top contender for “best dog ever.” He currently lives in a foster home alongside three cats and multiple other dogs, where he regularly hangs out with kids aged 4 and 5! He’s a perfect boy, ready to become a great family dog.

Koda is estimated to be just under 1 year old, and he currently weighs in around 45 pounds. We think Koda is a Husky mix of some sort, but he is a rescue, so these are just our best guesses.

Watch Koda here: https://youtu.be/Myop2Zbpp7s?si=8twPkkqAxuBEGS2Q

Koda is a true lovebug, a connoisseur of the couch snuggle and an avid kisser. Koda is affectionate with everyone he meets, but not too pushy about it. He doesn’t invade your space until he’s invited to.

Here at the rescue, Koda has shown great canine social skills! He would love to live in a home with another playful dog to keep him company. He has a fun and enthusiastic playstyle that gets the other dogs going, he can be a little shy with dogs at first but once he feels invited to play- it’s game on. He loves to zoom around the yard with the other dogs, and shares treats and affection well.

Koda is currently fostered in a home with other dogs and 3 indoor cats, and does well with them. Here at the rescue, Koda was cat tested and we believe him to be cat-tolerant, capable of living with dog-savvy cats. See his cat test for yourself in his video!

Koda’s foster mom says he’s easy on leash, and loves to take him to the park. She reports that he’s not big on toys, but loves nylabones. She brags that he has great house manners, and has never had an accident indoors at her house!

Koda has spent time with kids aged 4 and 5, and he was respectful and gentle with them. We think he would make an awesome family dog!

Koda’s perfect home will have at least one loving human to snuggle. He could live with dogs, dog-savvy cats, and/or kids! A perfect fit for just about any animal loving family. With any questions, please reach out to his adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Koda with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
