Gus puts the “g” into genial! The tiny 10-year-old with the appealing underbite is 12 pounds worth of sweetness and sociability, thriving on the constant companionship and ample affection of his fosters. Easygoing and calm, gentle Gus LOVES cuddling and snuggling with them, resting his head on them, having his belly rubbed and then performing his own rendition of the ranger crawl. Not only does he love following his fosters everywhere they go, he loves everyone he meets and, being friendly and submissive, he engages easily and eagerly with similar size and smaller dogs. Moderately energetic, Gus enjoys going for walks, honing his leash skills along the way, and does well in the car, either on your lap or in a crate. While he doesn’t seem interested in toys or bones, he does love cheese, is motivated by love, currently knows “come,” “stay,” “no” and “leave it,” is both bright and eager to please, crate trained and almost fully house-trained. Now Gus hopes to add his geniality to a home, perhaps with another playful pup (no cats, paw-lease), calm and respectful children, and adoring adopters who will complete his training, including his commands, and ensure that he’s kept content, mentally and physically, fur-ever.
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $100. Our adoption fee covers the following:
