My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Solo! Solo is an energetic 1 year-old dude who is sure to steal your heart! This boy is looking forward to meeting you and hopes to eat all the treats you have to offer. Solo is a friendly dog with a lot to say! He enjoys a frolic around the play yard as well as sniffing his heart out. If you're looking for a ball of sunshine to warm up your home, then come meet with Solo.

Solo was in foster care and they had this to say about him: "Solo, is so sweet. He loves pets! He lets my 18# blind/deaf dog boss him around. He does pull on leash and needs to be walked on a harness. He does use a crate when left alone but he isn't a big fan. Solo is housetrained and isn't a fan of rain. He would prefer to walk under an umbrella. Solo would do best in an active home and loves other's dogs. He would do great in training, how to not pull on a leash and not to jump up. Solo does have good natured energy and is eager to learn new things".

Would do best in a home with:
Kids over 16
Primary Color: Grey
Secondary Color: Brown
Weight: 59.5
Age: 1yrs 10mths 1wks

Additional adoption info

Entry to the shelter is currently limited, and walk-ins are not permitted for general pet viewing. Masks are currently optional.

View our Available Pets page and select a few that you would like to meet. Then download an Adoption Application and fill it out prior to visiting our shelter. Our adoption process is a walk-up and queue-based, first-come, first-served system. You will have a meet and greet with an Adoption Counselor to discuss your application, review information on the pets you would like to meet, and you will be introduced to the pet(s).If the Meet and Greet is a success, staff will complete your adoption paperwork to make it official! If your new family member is already spayed/neutered, they will go home with you right away!

More about this shelter

Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter. We rescue and rehome over 6000 pets each year. Every dog or cat leaves our shelter spayed or neutered and with complete vaccines and a microchip. We have been caring for animals in need since 1908 and envision a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes.

We are extremely proud of our exceptionally high “lives saved” rate of over 96%. Through our active adoption, behavior, foster, transfer, and veterinary programs, we are able to rehome every adoptable animal that enters our facility. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space.

In addition to caring for and adopting animals, we also provide spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County, and provide Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to our surrounding municipalities.
