Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Winter is here but somehow this Winter brings promises of keeping you warm rather than making you cold. This Winter is a gorgeous boy who is ready to charm his his way right into your passenger seat and your heart. If you’re looking for a gorgeous dog with a presence that is both calm and undeniable, Winter fits the ticket. His gentle kisses and love of a car ride make him Grade A best-boy material! See for yourself- https://youtu.be/DK6WNRDBH-Y
Estimated to be around 2.5 years old and weighing in at an impressive 74 lbs, Winter’s lineage might include German Shepherd and some Husky. The love and loyalty of a shepherd with a hint of a voice from the husky. Of course, as with all rescues, we can’t guarantee his breed mix, but we we’d love to see DNA results if and when you get them. A true shepherd lover will understand and recognize his tendencies to love and loyalty, which makes him eager to bond and very attentive to your guidance.
Winter’s dream home would be somewhere with room to run, a yard where he can roam, sniff, and soak up the outdoors would be ideal. This is a dog that would love the rural life- he is a dirt road and a patch of land kind of guy. Honestly, he is a country dream- picture him riding shotgun in your truck, pulling into the driveway, and watching him hop to check the property while you unload. That is a dream life right there.
Winter is fortunate and is being fostered in a loving home while he waits for his adoption day. This is wonderful not just for the everyday skills he learns and practices but because it gives us a front-row seat to his personality and mannerisms. Winters foster has shared that he is a great passenger, calm in the car and happy to load up when you get the door. He is affectionate and loves little kisses and snuggles but he doesn’t demand it which makes him an easy-going companion, happy to relax on his own. He is both house and crate trained and lives happily with another dog, a large male with a similar play style to his. He uses his voice when he plays so a playmate who isn’t bothered by his boisterous play style is ideal. On top of it all, Winter was very polite when introduced to out house cat. He sniffed briefly and walked away being very respectful of boundaries. His lack of interest is a positive sign and if he is joining a house with a cat, a slow intro and clear boundaries will help ensure he is the best friend any feline could want.
While Winter enjoys being out and about, he is polishing up his leash skills. He overall has great basic leash skills but when experiencing a new environment, especially one that is busy, in those moments gentle consistency will assure him while building his confidence.
This boy is a gorgeous, loyal, loving dog who is absolutely going to offer unmatched companionship and a deep bond with his people. He is ready to be your steady sidekick in all of life’s adventures, big and small.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
