One evening in mid-August while feeding two neighborhood cats, I saw a very tiny, timid kitten looking in under the gate. I spoke softly to him and slid some food towards him. It took about a week, but I was soon carrying him around in the crook of my arm. To this day he enjoys anyone’s arm or a lap for that matter. I named him Beverly thinking he was a girl kitten, but the vet informed me of my error. Of course, Beverly is a man’s name in England so we just say he has British roots! He was so tiny that I dared not leave him outside on a busy street so in he came into a large cage in my kitchen. Turns out he had a fantastic appetite and quickly put on weight and grew too fast to stay in that cage. So upstairs he went to be with my older cats. He was delighted to find some pals with whom to play. He loves string toys, chases balls, and mock attacks the older cats who wish he would be adopted sooner rather than later. He is an excellent non-fussy eater and enjoys canned and dry food. He waits daily, morning and evening, by the feeding station and is always first.
I think Beverly, now Bobby would be a good fit with other cats as he has never exhibited aggression towards my house kitties. However, he so loves being held in a lap or the crook of an arm, that he would thrive just as well in a home as an only cat. I brush him nightly just before bed by which time he struggles to keep his eyes open. He is not a destructive little guy at all. He is about 6 months old and fully vetted. Ready to make your home joyous!
Eat. Play. Sleep. And LOVE. That’s Beverly.
