Meet Rusty, a friendly and gentle soul who's eager to find his forever home. This adult dog is a sweet boy with a heart full of love for everyone he meets. He's a social butterfly who thrives in the company of people, always ready to greet you with a wagging tail. Rusty is house trained, making him a perfect companion for those looking for a low-maintenance pet. His compatibility with kids remains unknown, but his kind demeanor suggests he'd be a wonderful addition to any family.
He is a smart boy and basic group training classes is recommended to help him learn new commands, socialize with other humans and dogs, as well as build that fur-ever bond with you!
Adopt Rusty and you'll gain a loyal friend who'll bring warmth and joy to your life.
Rusty’s story: He was found running along a highway during a storm. He is fearful of storms. His rescuers tried diligently to find his family with no success. He is now living with a loving foster family and doing great!

This dog is ready for adoption, though may continue to test positive for exposure to ehrlichia for some time. Please see here for more information on ehrlichia, and please check with your vet before you apply to adopt this dog if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
