My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Dancer was brought in by his previous owner on December 1st, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Dancer, a smaller pup with a tender heart and a quiet charm. This little one might take some time to warm up to new faces, but patience and a gentle approach will help you see his true, sweet personality. Dancer is observant and curious, soaking in the world from the safety of his cozy corner.
As a shy puppy, Dasher will thrive in a calm, predictable environment. He is still learning the ropes of leash walking and house training, so positive reinforcement and consistent routines will be key to helping him blossom. With time, he will likely become a loyal companion who looks to you for guidance and reassurance. Dasher's ideal home is one that appreciates the beauty of small victories-like a wagging tail after a good walk or a brave step toward new adventures. If you have a quiet household and a little extra patience, this pup could be your perfect match. When you're ready to meet Dasher, be sure to bring a leash and collar to help them start their next chapter in comfort and style.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
