What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We rescued Mookie when we believe he was still a puppy. He has been a wonderful family pet and is loved deeply. He was raised with our then 6 year old German Shepherd and they were inseparable, but she passed away 2 years ago. Mookie loves long car rides, swimming, playing ball. He has been to dog parks when we travel and does well with other dogs. He loves long hikes in the woods and has a great sense of smell, and he loves hide and seek. He is great with our grandchildren and people. He is no longer a puppy, so he does well on leash walks and does not pull and he is house trained. He is extremely smart. His primary care giver has cancer and needs someone who can provide more care. We fenced in our yard, thinking that would help, but he now has difficulty getting along with our daughter's dog next door. I think both dogs are resource guarding. We are both older now and can't give him what the proper care he needs. He is up to date on all medical. He desperately needs a new home.
