My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Courage is the coolest ittie bittie pittie around- he has a huge, goofy personality and he’s super affectionate. He’s outdoorsy, great with kids, and amazing with other dogs. He’s small dog friendly and cat tolerant. He’s a perfect best friend, Courage would make a great family dog for just about any animal-loving family!

We think Courage is a Staffordshire Terrier, Pit Bull mix. He is a rescue, so these are just our best guesses. Courage is currently recovering from a skin infection that took his fur away, you may notice that he’s a little naked in some of his pics! His coat is coming back, healthier and softer than ever. We estimate Courage to be around 1 year old. He currently weighs in at 40 pounds, with tiny little legs that make us believe that he’ll fit into the “ittie bittie pittie” category forever.

Meet Courage here: https://youtu.be/VNuWlBFnHfk?si=R4I1wIcxEvik0Vrm

Courage is an awesome dog that warms up instantly to anyone and everyone. He’s a happy go lucky lover boy, he loves to kiss and snuggle. He’s amazing with kids too, gentle and loving and sweet.

With other pets, Courage is just as happy, welcoming and perfect. He’s amazing with other dogs of all sizes, he loves to play chase, and romp around the yard with his doggy friends. Courage has been cat tested here at the rescue, and we believe him to be cat-tolerant. See his cat test for yourself in his video. Here at the rescue, Courage met a small dog and did great with him as well!

Courage is an easy car rider, already good on leash, and so easy-going that we know he would do great as a little adventure dog. Take him to the park, patio cafes and events, and watch him steal hearts.

Courage has a ton of personality, he’s such a happy boy. He loves to play “his version” of fetch- you throw, he finds the ball, he barks to let you know the he’s found it and he’s ready for you to throw it again. He’s a vocal boy that likes to “talk,” not overly bark-y, just communicative! He’s super tolerant and doesn’t mind being picked up, dressed up or posed for pictures. He’s a solidly good boy! He loves treats and will work for them, so training him will be rewarding and enjoyable for both of you.

Courage’s ideal home has at least one adoring dog-parent that will love that sweet little face of his. He could live with other dogs of any size, dog-savvy cats, and kids. He’s an easy-going guy that would be an easy addition to any animal lover’s home. Courage would be happiest in a home with a backyard for him to zoom in. We are willing to test Courage with anything you may need to ensure that he is a perfect fit for your family, home and life. We can make most anything happen. Just let us know!

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
