Coming soon!! Anderson is not ready for adoption just yet.
Hi I am Anderson, a blue Merle Border Collie boy, about 9 months old. I was rescued from a hoarding situation, and will be looking for a quiet, loving, patient home. Foster mom says I’m not quite ready for adoption, but here is a little bit about me.
I LOVE other dogs, especially a nice confident buddy to help show me the ropes of a life with people and a house. I haven’t had a lot of experience with humans, but starting to like my foster home. It takes me lots of time to warm up, and very important that I can go at my own pace, as I learn about people. I don’t really enjoy petting, or cuddling, but it isn’t as scary as in the beginning. I would not enjoy children in the home.
Foster mom says I need experienced owners with the breed, and how to work with a shy and fearful dog. I need my humans to go slow, and have patience with me as I learn about the world. I need only positive and gentle training, so that I can gain confidence and be a happy dog in my family.
I am kennel trained, it is my “safe” spot, and I sleep there at night and when foster mom is away. I am learning to take treats from my foster family, and love chewing a bone while they watch TV. I LOVE running in the backyard, and zooming after a ball! I love my foster sister, she shows me that strange things are safe, giving me lots of confidence. I want a dog like her in my new forever home!
Anderson is not ready for adoption just yet. His foster is working on more human contact, confidence building activities, continuing to integrate in the home, and teaching him about a leash.
His new family must have experience with training a shy and fearful dog.
