My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Mildred. I'm a sweet, timid 5-year-old girl weighing in at just 26 lbs. Life hasn't been easy for me, and I'm currently in a shelter just waiting for the right person to come along and give me a forever home. I don’t know much about my past, but I do know that I’m ready to move forward and find a family who will love me.

I’m a gentle soul who gets along with everyone, though loud noises can make me a little nervous. I just need a bit of time to feel comfortable in new situations, but once I do, I’m all about cuddles and companionship. I’ve got a lot of love to give, and I’m hoping to find someone who will help me grow confident and show me how amazing life can be.

I might be a little shy at first, but I promise that with patience and kindness, I’ll blossom into the loyal, loving companion you’ve been looking for. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving dog who just needs a chance to shine into her golden years together, I could be the one for you. I’m waiting and hoping that my forever family is out there, ready to bring me home. If you're interested in making me a part of your family, please apply at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application. I can’t wait to meet you.

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
