Mae and Myla are extremely smart and playful puppies! They're your typical puppies who want to play, sleep, and play some more
When the owner of this litter of Australian shepherd puppies found themselves unable to continue providing the necessary care and attention these babies required, they made the responsible decision to reach out for help. Unfortunately, they ended up placing 5 of the 7 puppies with new owners without properly vetting them or ensuring the puppies were receiving the proper medical treatment they desperately needed. Thankfully, the remaining two puppies and their mother were entrusted to Hootie’s Haven, where we were able to immediately address the severe health issues they were facing. These poor pups were in rough shape, infested with worms and other parasites that had gone untreated for far too long, leaving them malnourished, lethargic, and at serious risk. It was heartbreaking to see them huddled together in a flimsy cardboard box, struggling to stay warm in the bitter cold. Now that these two precious Australian shepherd pups are finally on the mend and their mama is feeling stronger, it's time to begin the search for their forever homes - homes that will provide them with the love, stability, and attentive care they deserve after such a difficult start to life. We are hopeful that the other 5 puppies have also found loving families, but we remain concerned about their wellbeing and wish we could have intervened sooner to ensure all 7 of these beautiful animals received the proper vetting and responsible rehoming process they were entitled to.
