***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around WA state & Oregon but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.
Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, PayPal, if using PayPal the potential adopter will have to pay the fees & charges with PayPal.
Soul destroying to think of what she has been through & yet she still loves human beings even after everything they have done to her. We cannot even begin to imagine what Melody witnessed & heard when she was at the slaughterhouse, how Melody ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? What we do know is, she was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation she ended up in. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued Melody & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting Melody out, her fate was a torturous death. As it was when Melody arrived we discovered she had a bite missing from her ear that had healed.
She transferred Melody along with Melody & many other sweet souls she got well & they waited to come to the US. This is a very extremely expensive situation but we believe every sweet soul such as Melody & her & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life.
Now Melody is looking for a special family to cherish her & be patient with her & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all her needs.
Melody was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home.
Melody is so easy going considering her part life but had to learn what it was like to be in a loving foster home & the normal freedom. At first when she arrived she didn’t know what to do & wwas very uncertain & shy. Those days are over for Melody & now she knows she can go wherever she wants. You can find this girl just sitting there taking it all in as she is so grateful. She will just sit there or lay there & watch what you are doing without a care in the world now. We cannot stress enough how lovely Melody is & deserves the most loving home. This girl is so stunning inside & out & she has come along way since she arrived from China. The reality is she had to learn everything new here. She is so forgiving. She just wants you to love her & she will love you back. She adores being hugged & held because the reality is we are the first real people in her life to show her such true love & affection.
She is used to being groomed, baths all of it & is used to it.
She adores her foster mum & dad now as they have shown her normalcy & love.
In her foster home she eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains & different supplements.
Melody is still learning to walk on harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach her how to go on walks but would still need to be taught. Melody is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Melody adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing her, cleaning her eyes, grooming her, she loves it all. She also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love.
Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Melody & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. She is quite a free spirit because she does enjoy going off & doing her own thing or then sometimes she can be found laying at her foster mums feet in the kitchen while she is in there.
Melody has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. She is such an easy & sweet going, loving little lady. With Melody we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lady only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this girl. We are also looking for a forever home for Melody where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly he can go with them.
Did we mention this girl loves a good outfit too.
Melody is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding.
Melody has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company. She can be found at times snuggled up to her foster siblings. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Melody new forever home along with another dog friend. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs.
Melody is now roughly 6 lbs & is 2 years old & a female miniture poodle & what she is mixed with we are not sure? She is spayed & microchipped, up to date on her shots including DHLPP, rabies & dewormed.
She has put on a good amount of weight since she arrived as she was very thin.
We have spent far more on Melody with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare costs, $1000 alone, bringing her into Seattle, without anything else than her adoption fee comes close to covering.
Melody has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Melody with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals.
We were not there when Melody was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Melody’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Melody potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.
We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Melody & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Zoom to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Melody who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely little lady.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Melody has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
