My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Swerve! I might look like a rugged outdoor adventurer with my tipped ear, but let me tell you—I’m all about the indoor life now. You see, I was found outside, and my humans tried *really hard* to find my family. They even gave me a fancy tracker to see if I’d lead them to my home. But I wasn’t going anywhere—I decided my forever people were right here, and now I’m ready to settle down with a loving family.

Since then, I’ve been fixed, fully vaccinated, flea-free, microchipped, and had all those outdoor scrapes cleaned up. I tested negative for leukemia (yay!), and I’ve discovered that being pampered indoors is the life for me. I love being brushed, hearing how handsome I am, and chirping sweet little purrs to remind you how much I adore you.

I’m super easygoing and get along great with all other animals. I’m a floppy, cuddly guy who just wants to be wherever my people are. Oh, and closed doors? Yeah, I don’t approve. Why shut me out when I could be hanging out with you? And if you dare walk past me without a little pet or “hello,” I’ll be sure to let you know I was waiting for my turn to shine.

I’d love an indoor home where people understand I need a collar and tag in case I ever sneak out—after all, my tipped ear might make someone think I’m a community cat. But trust me, I’m all yours. Let’s relax, snuggle, and enjoy life together!

Additional adoption info

Please do not email us about animals until you have filled out an application. Our animals go quickly and applications are reviewed first come, first served. Once you are in the queue to be a potential adopter, you will receive an email in which you can respond to with any further questions.

We do not ship or transport animals out of the area. You can live anywhere and adopt from us, but you must make arrangements to come meet and adopt your pet in person.

To adopt an animal, just click the application link (www.ahope4src.com/adoptions) and find the animal you are interested in. Click on the photo of the animal and fill out the application.

Animals may not go home until they are at least 8 weeks old and fixed. Once an animal is ready to go home, you have 48 hours to pick them up. Fees and further information is on our website at www.ahope4src.com/adoptions

More about this rescue

A HOPE is a dedicated non profit organization working to lessen intake and euthanasia at our local shelters. We pull the neediest pets and bring them up to health and socialization so they can be adoptable.

Our primary focus is not adoptions, but to change mindsets and work towards a better future for our animals. We study local law and practices in order to put things in place which will lay out a life-saving future.

We offer low cost spay/neuter, vaccines, and microchipping services as well as humane education, free pet food, and transport.

We do anything in our power to change the outlook for animals in and around the Florida Panhandle.
