My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marvin was found in a teeny tiny crate left on Temple Street near Downtown Los Angeles, so small that he could barely move inside it. Completely frightened and shut down when brought to the shelter, The REAL Bark immediately took him in and began the giving of human love and interaction that reminded him that life is not always going to be that horrible scary place he was left at. Although Marvin is estimated to be 13 years young, mostly due to his past poor dental hygiene and diet, he acts much younger and full of life. He thoroughly enjoys his walks with his new friends, and has learned to trust people enjoying their company, pets, and affection (which he generously returns). He's been given a thorough tune up and cleanup of his teeth and mouth, and is feeling so much better now. Marvin is looking for a great foster or even better, his forever home. Marvin appears to be house trained. If you are looking for a handsome, sweet gent like Marvin, contact us at therealbark@gmail.com Please note that we are currently set up to adopt within the Los Angeles county area.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our amazing dogs are fully vetted, fixed, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption. They are then fostered by one of our experienced foster volunteers, who are able to assess temperament and personality and begin any necessary training. An adoption application, adoption fee, and home check are required for adoption.

Not 100% certain whether you're ready to commit to pet ownership? Consider fostering one of our amazing dogs. It is a crucial piece of the rescue process, and you can play a huge part in saving a dog's life, all the while deciding if that dog, or any dog, is the right fit for your lifestyle! If you know you can't be a forever owner but want to help out and get a little puppy love in return, this may be just the thing for you!

All supplies, food and veterinary care are provided to the foster by the rescue. No costs involved to you - just provide a safe and loving environment and we will do the rest! Fostering can be as short- or long-term as you would like, and we can place dogs with you that are conducive to your lifestyle and preferences (small, large, hypoallergenic, etc.)
