My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Champ!

Champ is a 7 year old yellow lab who was surrendered to Brookline when the farmer was done using him for breeding. He is looking for a home where he can hang out with his people most of the day and soak up the attention he missed the first years of his life. He is a cuddly lovebug who is also playful and smart.

Champ has been living with 2 dogs with very different temperaments while in foster care and he has done well with both. He also stayed in another foster home for a week and did well with the 2 dogs and 2 cats in that home.

Champ would probably do best with another dog in his new home, however, if there is a family interested in him that is home most of the time and has previous dog experience, we will consider their situation.

Champ has a lot of energy left and enjoys running and playing with the resident dogs in the backyard. He gets super excited for his morning walk and is good on leash. He walks about 2 miles each day. He does settle quickly after his spurts of exercise and enjoys napping at foster mom's feet most of the day.

Champ has settled into our home and routine so quickly. He wants nothing more than to be with his family and to be loved. He is housetrained and trustworthy in the home. He is a wonderful dog and will make a great companion for some lucky family.

PLEASE NOTE:  While this Lab may not be available for adoption by the time you complete the adoption process, other great Labs are always finding their way into our Rescue.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All applicants complete an application and have a home visit before being approved to adopt. Once approved to adopt, they wait to find the right dog for their family. They are required to sign a pre-adoptive agreement and keep the dog they are matched with for a 3 week pre-adoptive period. If all goes well during that period, they sign an adoption agreement and adopt the dog. The fees vary depending on the age and altered status of the dog. We do require all dogs to be altered if they are not already and require obedience training as well

Go meet their pets

Some , but not all, of our dogs are present at events we attend throughout our coverage areas in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. For the most part, adopters do not meet a dog until they are introduced to the dog they are matched with. This introduction takes place after they have a home visit and are matched with one of our dogs and the meeting is held at a neutral location half way between the dog and the applicant.

More about this rescue

We are a labrador retriever rescue that places labs and lab mixes in new homes. We do this because we love the lab breed and want to be sure dogs in need of a new home find the right home for them.
