My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, I’m Kris, and I’m on the hunt for my forever family! 💛

I’m a 4ish-year-old mix who’s been through a lot. I spent two years in an overcrowded Texas shelter before an amazing rescue group swooped in to give me a second chance. Now, I’m living it up in Minnesota with plenty of fresh air and space to play—what a dream!

Here’s the scoop about me:
✨ Personality: I’m a fun-loving, people-adoring guy. Seriously, if you’re looking for a loyal best friend, I’m your dog!
✨ Energy Level: I’m active and would thrive with a family that loves outdoor adventures or just playing in the yard.
✨ Training Progress: I’m still learning my manners, but I’ve made huge strides in the past six weeks! I used to get so excited I’d jump up or grab at clothes, but now I’m much better. (Thanks to all the love and patience from my rescue friends!)
✨ Dog Friends: I’ve met some puppies and did great! I might do best with a confident male or a sweet female dog, but the rescue team is still getting to know my preferences.
✨ Other Animals & Kids: I haven’t met cats yet, and while kids are cool, I’m still figuring them out.

I’m dreaming of an active family who will shower me with love, teach me new things, and let me be their one and only. If you’re looking for a buddy to join your adventures—or just snuggle on the couch—I’m your guy. 🐕

Let’s meet and see if we’re a match! 💕

Additional adoption info

The dogs in our care will be adopted out with an updated vet exam, they will be up to date on their rabies (if of age), and DHPP. All dogs will also be microchipped and dewormed. If they are of age, they will also be altered. We do not do pediatric spays or neuters so a deposit is required at the time of adoption, once the dog is altered, the deposit will be returned.

Due to the American Veterinary Medical Association's recommendation to not spay/neuter dogs under 6 or 12 months depending on breed and our vets recommendation. Large-breed puppies under 6-months will not be altered prior to adoption but do require a deposit that will be returned once your dog is altered. Small breed and adults that are 6-months or older, will be done prior to adoption.

During the time spent at Forever Fido, all dogs will be socialized with many confident and social dogs of all ages, safely interact with kids of many ages, appropriately meet a variety of humans, start potty and crate training, and begin basic puppy manners including impulse control.

Due to the effort we put into our puppies & dogs prior to adoption, we do require all applicants to enroll in a puppy or basic obedience class with a positive reinforcement trainer. Proof of enrollment will be required before the puppy/dog will be sent home.
