Sugar Plum wants to sweeten your home for the holidays

Foster Home Feedback

Foster Feedback 2/23/25: Sugar Plum has been doing well settling in the past few months. She's been doing well in her strong kennel while we are out of the house and seems to be less noisy.

Sugar absolutely loves the snow. She'll ask to go outside just to lay down in the snow piles in the yard. When we've had snow storms, she will sass us until we let her outside.

She has caught on to the daily routine quickly and knows the downstairs office means quiet time. Sugar and our dogs save their loud wrestling for the living room and outside. She's not afraid of a good smackdown wrestling match.

Sugar Plum is a bundle of energy and joy who thrives in an active environment. She's perfect for families with older kids who can match her playful spirit. When it comes to playing, she can get a bit mouthy—nothing a little training and patience can't handle! Her enthusiasm also means she might not be the best fit for households with very small children.

This adventurous pup loves the great outdoors and would do best with a secure, fenced-in yard or a tie-out. Catching her during playtime can turn into a fun game of chase, so be prepared for some outdoor antics!

Sugar Plum is a delightful conversationalist, known for her sweet "songs" and sassy attitude throughout the day. Her vibrant personality makes her an ideal companion for a home with space to run and explore, rather than an apartment setting. We want to make sure her new family can fully appreciate her vocal talents without any worries.

If you're ready to welcome a lively and affectionate furry friend into your home, Sugar Plum might just be the perfect match!

Foster Feedback 12/25/24: "....while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads." Sugar Plum is a sweet dog that wants to dance her way into her new home.

This smart girl has learned the routine of the house quickly. Sugar sleeps in the office with the resident dogs during work hours but is always up for a play session outside of the office.

She is definitely potty trained. Sugar Plum will let her husky side out to sass you when she needs to be let out. Don't try to get her inside in a hurry though! Sugar is absolutely loving the cold weather. She will go outside to lay in the snow when she wants a break from the warm house.

We are still working on kenneling all night. Sugar Plum would much rather sleep in bed with us, or on the floor. But she does well in the kennel during the day when we need to be out. She also knows to sit, shake, lay down, and does well on the leash.

Sugar Plum is a vocal girl when you come home as well. She will give you some sweet "awoos" to let you know she missed you!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

There is a pre-adoption application, reference check, and home visit required prior to adopting an animal. There is an adoption donation/fee applied to all dogs. This fee ranges from $100-150. These fees help cover the veterinary care we have provided for the animals while they wait for homes. The fee also helps pay for the food and other general care we provide for the dogs. You must be 21 yrs or older to adopt a dog and can not live in a an area where there are dog breed bans. We do adopt to homes outside on the area, but there are special requirements for out of state adopters.

Go meet their pets

We regularly have "Meet the Dogs!" events at the West Fargo PetSmart store. These events will give you the opportunity to meet some of the dogs we have available for adoption and to visit with our volunteers. See our website for schedule dates/times.
