My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~

Health: Nadine is currently taking Lasix to manage fluid retention around her heart. While the underlying cause remains uncertain, she is responding positively to her daily medication regimen.  ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam *****

Temperament: Nadine is an enchanting tri-colored Pomeranian who spent the first five or six years of her life as a breeding dog. Unfortunately, she was never introduced to the comforts of living in a home or the warmth of being truly loved. However, she is now embracing her new life! While she is gradually adjusting to the good life, it may take some time for her to overcome her fears. Occasionally, she might let out a startled squeal if she senses a threat, whether it’s a sudden movement or even a hand raised for a gentle pet. She’s still learning to trust.

Due to her background, Nadine will require a patient adopter who can provide her with the time she needs to acclimate to yet another new environment. She isn’t accustomed to walking on a leash, making her less suited for apartment living or homes without a secure fenced yard. On a positive note, she is housetrained with the help of a doggy door—a rarity for dogs from breeding situations! Having a doggy door in her new home would be ideal. Without one, she would need frequent trips outside to relieve herself when she feels comfortable.

Currently, Nadine resides in a foster home with both dogs and cats. They all coexist peacefully and share the bed. She tends to ignore the cat when they’re nearby but will bark at it if it’s on the other side of a gate, clearly knowing not to challenge it up close.

Nadine is sure to shower you with sweet little kisses, follow you around the house, and even perform a little dance when it’s mealtime. With time and love, she will undoubtedly blossom into an amazing companion. --

Where did she come from:  Surrendered to our rescue by a Breeder.

Additional adoption info

Please allow up to 72 hours for a response.

Adopting one of our dogs requires that you fill out an adoption application, have your references checked, and let us visit your home.

The required minimum adoption donation is $250. That amount covers the spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm testing, and one month of heart worm preventative.

We spend about $300.00 just to treat the pommies that are heartworm positive. We have invested more than $1000.00 in several of our pommies--treating them and kenneling them. Kenneling cost $16 a day per dog. We need foster homes!
