My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Goose is a fun sized blue dobie, weighing in at around 63lbs. She is highly intelligent and driven and is very eager to please- she knows her name as well as many commands, including but not limited to “sit”, “down”, “wait”, “shake”, “spin”, “guard”, and something that looks a little like “roll over”. She is crate trained and house broken. She loves her people and would love to cover you in kisses any chance she gets. There is nothing Goose won’t do for her favorite thing, a ball! She is very trainable, but could use a home that is willing to work with a trainer on her issues with separation anxiety, eating fun inedible mystery items, and some resource guarding of high-value toys. Though she has mellowed some in the 7 months her previous owners had her, she is still a bundle of energy and would do best in a home with a good sized backyard and/or a human that is willing to run or bike with her. She is a bit fearful of loud noises and really fast movements, and for this reason, she is not a big fan of kids under ~8 or really energetic children and would do best in a home without them. Her previous owners are dead set on finding her a good home and are happy to send her with her large collection of super durable toys, her Herm Sprenger prong collar, her leashes and harnesses, an XL crate, any remaining Hill’s Science Diet kibble, and her indestructible K9 Ballistics bed.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
