Hi! My name is Jupiter and I am a sweet but energetic boy. I can to the shelter in November of 2024 and I`m currently looking for my forever home.
The staff say I am really talented as I know a couple really cool tricks. I have become a pro at sit, spin, shake, but I am still working on down. You see I am very food motivated and will do just about anything for a treat. When I am not entertaining you with all of my skills you will find I love to put my nose to the ground and get to work. The staff say I have nose brain but I`m sure they are just jealous that I can smell all the cool things they can`t.
Since being at the shelter I have tried to play with other dogs. It seems like every dog I have met so far gets a little nervous of my as I do like to tell a lot of stories before playing with someone new. I think I just need a doggie friend that is able to keep up with my and wrestle until we are both exhausted.
I can`t wait to find my forever home where I can be spoiled with lots of treatos and snuggles. Hopefully they will have a fenced in yard and maybe even another doggie friend I could spend my days playing with. If you like a little excitement in your life and are looking for an adventure buddy then I am the perfect boy for you.
~ Jupiter is a high-energy dog looking for an active home that will be able to take him on lots of adventures once he is comfortable ~ While in our care we have noticed that Jupiter shows the possibility of having resource guarding with his food ~ He is looking for a single person, couple or family with older children ~ He will need to be signed up for training prior to going into his fur-ever home to help him learn some of his basic manners and help with socialization ~ Jupiter`s new family will need to be familiar (either by previous ownership or research) with hound breed behaviours
Regularly Exhibited Behaviours Noticed: - High Energy - Under-Socialized - Jumpy - Resource guarding - Vocal
Explanation of Behaviours: - Jupiter is an active and high-energy dog that will need lots of daily exercise and enrichment. - Jupiter has shown to have some possible resource guarding while in our care specifically with food - Jupiter can be jumpy (especially when he knows treats are involved). - He is under-socialized and will need his new family to work with him on socialization. - Jupiter can be vocal and would do best in a home without any shared w

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
