Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Tigger is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. Please email adopt@calgaryhumane.ca if you are interested in scheduling a meeting. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as Tigger is not available to meet on site.
Age: 6 years Weight: 5.14 kg
If Tigger`s foster parent had to sum him up in one sentence, she`d say that he is such a sweet, gentle, loving soul, hidden under a hard candy coating of timidness and fear. Tigger has had a rough go of life recently and has made it very clear to CHS staff that he is not the shelter`s biggest fan. After finding his foster home, we now know that once he builds trust in a person and in his quiet surroundings, he is keen on showing you how loving and fun he can be! He is described as being incredibly quirky and he loves teaching his people new things about him every day. For example, his fur is super soft and thick, so once he starts asking for pets, you won`t want to stop. But be warned! He is picky about how and where you pet him.
Tigger is still coming around and gaining confidence in his foster home, so there are many things we have yet to learn about him. He needs a calm, quiet family who will go at his pace to build a solid foundation of trust and to bring out his goofy side again. He needs a slow, gentle approach, and even then, he has his boundaries. With that being said, he is getting more and more comfortable greeting his foster family with purrs, rubbing against their legs and laying on his foster mom`s lap as she reads! Overall, Tigger is an absolute lovebug who just needs a bit of time to feel safe enough to prove it. If you`d like to set up a meeting with this handsome fellow, please email the Adoptions team right away!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
