My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Beau, a handsome bluish-gray cat with captivating yellow eyes! He is a very loving boy and is a big fan of people. He follows his foster Mom around all day and always wants to be wherever she is. At night he sleeps at the foot of his foster parents' bed and will come greet them with very loud purrs whenever they stir. Beau is also a chatty boy! When you arrive home he will be sure to greet you with his adorable meows. If you work from home or just like relaxing on the couch, Beau will never be far away - he enjoys sitting next to you to keep you company! He would love to be in a home where he can get plenty of attention from his human family.

Beau is a very lucky guy! One Sunday afternoon out of nowhere he walked into the driveway of one of our very own volunteers (smart boy). He was hungry and so friendly, accepting pets immediately. After attempts to see if he already had a family were not successful, he was vetted and placed into his foster home where he began to thrive.

Because of all the changes Beau had been through, it took a couple of weeks for him to be fully comfortable in his foster home. His next transition is likely to be easier, but he will need a family that is patient and gives him the time he needs to get acclimated. But no worries, you will be rewarded, because once he warms up to you, he is the sweetest and most loving cat. Beau does great around other cats and although he hasn't been around a dog, with his sweet and chill nature he should do well with a proper introduction. He is not the biggest fan of loud noises, so he would do better in a home with adults and older children.

Although his exact age is unknown, the vet guesses around he’s around 2 years old. He still has plenty of kitten energy and enjoys playing with all toys, especially the ones he can chase around (springs, crinkly balls, mice, etc.). He also likes the laser pointer and cat wands. He is currently eating Purina One True Instinct dry food. He hasn't found a wet food he really likes but loves the occasional Star-Kist tuna or chicken treat.

Beau is a warm and cuddly cat and his foster family is truly in love with him. He would be a great addition to a family who is looking for a loving companion and is willing to spoil him with lots of attention!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption application to learn a bit about the home our cats will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor-only clause along with a vet promissory note that ensures you will continue with the medical care and spay/neuter if needed.

We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis.

We require a donation of $120 for adoption of unaltered kittens with a PTV Contract. All kittens receive vaccine series and wormings as well as medical treatment as needed. The adopter is responsible for obtaining their rabies vaccine and spay/neuter if the kitten is not of age at the time of adoption. We can provide resources for low cost clinics that offer these services.

We ask a donation of $25 to adopt Career/barn cats.

We require a donation of at least $140 for adoption of Spayed/neutered cat.

Bonded pairs adoption donation is $200.

Sometimes we require rental checks or home inspections. We always have a Meet n Greet to make sure everyone gets along. We encourage bringing the whole family!

More about this rescue

Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce feral cat population in Hampton Roads by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens for adoption into loving forever homes. We are a VDACS registered 501c3 nonprofit, founded in 2014 with over 60 foster homes.

Our heart is in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return of ferals), where cats are fixed, vaccinated, ear tipped, and allowed to live out their lives without reproducing. We are advocates for advancing legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads. Our unique feral kitten socialization program has a 90% success rate in socializing feral-born kittens to become loving, in-home pets.

We are always seeking fosters, volunteers, transporters, and trappers to join our team!
