My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Adoption Special - $50 OFF adoption fee sponsored by Good Charlie ***

Thanks to Good Charlie sponsoring Stormy, you can adopt her for only $50!

Hello! My name is Tiny, and I’m a sweet 2-year-old male kitten with soft medium-length black and white fur. I came from a home with too many cats, so I might take a little time to warm up to you. But don’t worry—I promise I’m worth the wait! Once I feel comfortable, I absolutely love getting chin scratches! If you hit that sweet spot, I’ll start my adorable purr motor, and you’ll see just how happy I can be. Plus, I have the cutest pink toe pads that I love to show off! I’m looking for a quiet home where I can bond with my new human. I’m shy but not aggressive, and I really thrive on gentle love and attention. If you’re someone who enjoys holding a sweet kitty and giving lots of cuddles, I would be so grateful to find a loving family with you. Let’s create a beautiful friendship together! More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. FRAs was founded in 2004 by 4 volunteers who wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter. Our organization has grown to over 300 volunteers, and with this growth, we now support two municipal shelters -- Rowlett, TX and Garland, TX – and operate our own cat rescue program.

Our mission is to provide resources, programs and education to promote adoption and care of homeless pets in our community. FRAs’ vision is a world where every companion animal has a safe and loving forever home. We are a 100% all volunteer run organization, and our ability to help homeless animals depends on donations from the community and grant funding.

Our organizational programs include operating the volunteer program for both shelters, providing funding for heartworm treatments and emergency medical care, accepting cats from the shelter and citizens into our foster-based cat rescue, supporting TNR/SNR efforts for community cats and most recently funding dog transport initiatives. Our volunteers spend thousands of hours socializing and marketing the animals for adoption, which increases the number of animals with a positive outcome. FRAs has helped countless pets avoid euthanasia, find their forever homes and live longer, healthier lives.
