Buddy is a lower/medium energy, 9-year-old beagle boy ready to find his forever family. Buddy is on the smaller side at only 23 pounds and has beautiful blue tick coloring. He is a sweet, gentle soul who loves everyone he’s met and gets along well with other dogs. He is mostly submissive towards other dogs. He loves to give kisses, cuddle with his humans, and play chase with his younger beagle brothers.
Buddy has some separation anxiety he would do best in a home with minimal alone time. He would be happiest in a home with another dog to play with him. He is house-trained and will go to the door when he wants outside. He knows the commands for “sit”, “beg”, “down”, and “go to your crate.” Buddy has stolen his foster parents’ hearts with the sweetest little “begging” pose ever! His foster mom admits that he might be just a little extra spoiled because of that.
Buddy eats inside his crate and sometimes goes there to nap during the day, but he does not tolerate being in a crate if the door is closed. If Buddy’s foster family leaves the house for a short time during the day, he is left free to roam the house and has no issues, except that he will bark for a bit due to separation anxiety. When outside, Buddy does like to say hello to the neighbors, other neighborhood dogs, any visiting critters, and sometimes even the leaves blowing in the wind. He’s a little fearful of riding in the car but does better if his beagle sibling is in the car with him.
This sweet playful cuddler is ready to find his new forever home and smother his new family with beagle
kisses. If you want to be Buddy’s new family, contact Midwest BREW.

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

More about this rescue

BREW Midwest is the midwest region of BREW Inc. (Beagle Rescue, Education and Welfare). We are a network of volunteers and foster homes across Western PA, OH, MI, IN and IL.

Our Mission:
*Rescue beagles in danger of euthanasia from shelters
*Help beagles that have been removed from neglectful or abusive situations
*Educate families about beagles and their special qualities
*Find kind, loving families for homeless or abandoned beagles.

BREW is dedicated to rescuing and re-homing beagles. The main focus is beagles in shelters that are faced with imminent extermination. BREW works with shelters and animal control facilities and adopt beagles to families throughout our region. In addition to our rescue efforts, BREW is dedicated to increasing public awareness of pet overpopulation and encouraging pet owners to spay and neuter their pets. Towards that end, no beagle over six months of age is adopted from BREW without being spayed or neutered. BREW also works to alert people about the disadvantages of purchasing pets from a "pet store."
