My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oona is a little terrier mix with incredible climbing ability (easily scaling a 3 foot gate!). She loves her toys, especially tennis balls. Housebroken and quiet. This little girl had been a stray for a while, but was taken in by a wonderful family who took care of socializing her and getting her up to date on her medical needs so she would be ready to be adopted. She is still hesitant around new people, but warms up quickly. Other dogs are difficult for her- if she accepts them, she needs to be the alpha. Her records say she is 5-6 years old, but we suspect she is a little younger. About 13 pounds.

A little bit of a diamond in the "ruff", Oona is ready for her forever home!

Applications for Oona are available at www.chesed-rescue.org/adoptions.  We background and vet check all applicants and are looking for stable homes.

More about this rescue

Chesed Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted animals. “Chesed” is often translated as “loving kindness”. Acts qualify as “chesed” when they are motivated by a spirit of generosity, not obligation.

Chesed is a small rescue, where we get to know each animal as an individual. Our placements focus on not just finding excellent homes, but excellent homes that are the right fit for each pet. Our adoption criteria is strict. We work hard to get these pets to safety, we donate many hours to their care, and will not settle for anything less that a great home for their future.

All of our pets are in foster homes, where they get used to being a loved house pet. If you are interested in saving lives and getting fuzzy snuggles, please apply to foster at www.chesed-rescue.org/fostering.

In addition to our adoption and education programs, we manage the Kobi center, which provides those less fortunate or those on a fixed income with necessary pet supplies, food and medications.
