My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.

Oh what a sweetheart RUBY is and she has come a long way since coming into my home.  When she was found 3 months ago with her brother and dad roaming the streets of San Antonio, TX she had no socialization skills.  I had to walk around holding her, laying on the floor on her level keeping her company and just treating her like a real foster child to get use to my home.  RUBY now comes to me for head rubs and she snuggles with me to sleep and just be close.  A long way of improvements since she use to run from me.

She is very crate trained and goes to her crate automatically when I say it is time for me to go out.  She is mostly potty trained, 75% trained.  She runs out of her crate to the backdoor immediately to go potty.  I do not have a doggy door.

RUBY would love to go to a home with a pet playmate, she will not do good as an only pet as she follows the dogs around and they are her security.  She is a follower and such a good girl.  She gets along with everyone and walks well on a leash and rides in the car without getting car sick.

RUBY is 10 months old and weighs 10 pounds.  Her dad only weighed 14 pounds so I do not expect that she will exceed that weight as a true adult.  There was no sign of her mother anywhere.  She is already so cute but she has a slight underbite which makes her even cutier and unique.

RUBY will require grooming every 8-10 weeks because her hair grows and you do not want it to start matting.

If you are interested in adopting RUBY please call me or submit an application on the website below.  Thank you.

ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED

Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE.

We transport across the United States.

Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption.

Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.

More about this rescue

We are a home based foster rescue organization, we do not have a shelter. All of our dogs are in private foster homes where they are healthy and socially active. We are better able to explain their personality and behavior.
We rescue dogs from the streets of San Antonio, Texas who have been dumped and abandoned as well as pull them from our very high kill city shelter. We also rescue dogs from surrounding counties and take owner surrenders.
We rescue dogs because of the passion in our hearts to help the voiceless when they need help the most. We are rewarded with great, happy and grateful dogs.
