My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Choco, the Gentle Giant!

Hi there! My name is Choco, and although I might look like a big, tough pit bull, don’t let my appearance fool you -- I'm a big sweetheart at heart! My love for humans and older kids shines through in every wag of my tail. I’m on the lookout for a loving, active person who can appreciate my gentle nature.

Temperament: With a calm and quiet personality, I’m a low-shedding boy who enjoys leisurely walks and snuggles. While I recommend homes with older children, I absolutely adore being around people and other friendly dogs, as long as they play nice with me!

Training & Behavior: I’m both kennel and house trained, which means I know how to behave indoors. Having spent the first half of my life chained to a rope, I cherish my newfound freedom and love every moment of my life now. I’m just looking for someone to share adventures with!

Grooming: Being a low shedder makes me a great choice for anyone concerned about fur around the house.

Special Note: While I’m still unsure about those crazy kitties, I’m more than happy to share my home with friendly dogs who want to be my buddy!

Why Adopt Choco? If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with love and affection, I’m your dog! I may have had a rough start, but I’m ready to embrace the good life and fill your days with joy.

More about this rescue

Bone Voyage is a non-profit rescue group created to send Mexican dogs north to better homes. We work with the local shelters and with people in the Lake Chapala area that have many street dogs in their care.

We also assist individuals that find street dogs and don’t know what to do with them. We are all volunteers working together to try to minimize the amount of homeless dogs in the area.
