**Pugs are prone to major medical issues such as heat stroke, o besity, and joint issues and require extra precautions to ensure their safety and well-being. We are specifically looking for a pug-savvy home for Sonny.**
Who can resist Sonny and his wrinkled face?
Sonny is estimated to be 2-5 years old and is the epitome of a lovebug. He is a happy and chill guy who enjoys lots of cuddles and leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. He would be a wonderful companion for someone looking for an easygoing buddy. Sonny weighs around 20lbs, he may fill out a little, but he is fully grown.
Sonny came to us after a family found him as a stray and couldn't locate any owners. He seems like he likely was an outdoor dog, but he has been very much enjoying life inside.
Sonny is a chill guy who loves to always be by your side. Some would call him a Velcro dog, but he likes to think of himself as your little shadow and will follow you around eager for some love. He likes his walks, especially with the cool fall weather here, and is happy to trot along and check out all the smells. He makes friends with everyone he meets and is just a sweet, darling boy.
Sonny has done well with other dogs but seems way more interested in hanging out with people and would do just fine as an only dog or with other mellow dogs. Sonny has done well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. He could make a great addition to a family with kids 7 years or older.
Sonny isn't housetrained and will mark inside, so he wears diapers to help with his housetraining. He came to us intact, so now that he is neutered, that should help reduce his need to mark. He will need a patient family who will be consistent with his housetraining. Sonny isn't the biggest fan of being crated but has done well being left for short periods in a contained area. He is a well-mannered boy but seems to not have had any training. Sonny would do best with a family who doesn't have to leave him home alone for long or often as he wants to be with you as much as possible.
Sonny has chronic dry eye and requires twice daily eye drops and ointment. He is easy to give his meds to but needs a family who is comfortable giving daily medication.
Sonny is such a wonderful boy and is ready for his fur-ever family. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!

Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
