Onyx was given up by his family at 1 year old. I saw his ad on Craigslist and decided to visit. He was playful and full of energy, but infested with fleas and without any vaccine shots. While not abused, he was neglected, kept outdoors in a dirt lot with two other dogs and a new litter of pups the family was also giving away. I took him in to provide the attention and training he needed, fostering until he was ready for a forever home.
When I first got him, Onyx was scared of everything—car rides, dog parks, and even walking outside. But over time, he learned to walk on a leash, enjoy car rides, play confidently at the dog park. He’s now potty trained, flea-free, neutered, and up-to-date on shots. Onyx is a beam of light who would thrive with experienced pet owners who are good with boundaries as he gives major puppy eyes when he wants something. He’s ready for a loving home, ideally with another playful dog and a yard. He’s crate trained but may get anxious after 4 hours.
