My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Local adoption only: Teddy needs a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who can commit to taking him to his final puppy vetting appointment. The cost of this appointment is covered in his adoption donation.***

Meet Teddy! This Standard Poodle boy is just 6 months old and is currently about 30 lbs. This shy, snuggly sweetheart is looking for someone who will love him as much as he will love them.

  • General Behavior: Teddy can be very shy when meeting someone for the first time, but when he comes out of his shell he is the sweetest boy! Once you win his heart, his affectionate, playful, and goofy sides will come out. Teddy's ideal day involves running and playing fetch with his favorite toys, followed by some cuddles and snoozing on the sofa.

  • Likes & Dislikes: This chill guy loves to sleep and lounge on the couch: then, when it’s play time, he loves to run around. He'll get the zoomies and play fetch with his stuffed animals. He adores toys.

  • Training: For such a young dog, Teddy already has good basic manners. He is housetrained if let out frequently, is a good passenger on car rides, and sleeps in a dog bed at night. He just needs a bit more practice walking on a leash. Additionally, he is teething and he loves to chew on things so it’s best to keep an eye on him at the moment and to make sure he's got appropriate chew toys.

  • Medical: Teddy is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.

  • Other Animals: Teddy has proved good with small dogs. He hasn't been observed around cats yet, but his foster thinks he'd be OK with them.

  • Children: Gentle Teddy is good with children of all ages.

  • Home: A single family home would be best for Teddy, where someone is around morer often than not. He does bark when left alone. Other than that, his foster family have only heard him bark in a playful way with other dogs. He does not bark at the doorbell/knocking or at any guests etc.

  • Grooming: As a Poodle, Teddy will need regular grooming (about every 6-8 weeks) to keep him looking and feeling his best, with regular baths and brushing in between.

  • Overall: Teddy is a lovely dog who needs an energetic family who can raise him, train him, and love him forever.

Do you live in the Central Florida region? Could Teddy be the best friend that your life has been missing? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered, and he has just had his teeth cleaned. His adoption donation is $650.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
