My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Blue Belle is looking for a foster home with no other pets. She is great with kids!

Meet Blue Belle, an amazingly sweet and adorable grey pittie girl with a heart full of love and a personality that shines brighter than the sun! This happy-go-lucky girl has spent her entire life—over two years—at a shelter after being taken there as a puppy due to cerebellar hypoplasia. Despite her challenges, Blue Belle is full of joy and positivity, as if she lives in a world of hearts and rainbows.

Dogs with cerebellar hypoplasia may have some motor skill issues, but they are often not in pain and can live long, happy lives. For Blue Belle, her unique walk—with her front paws lifting high—is the only hint of her condition. She’s unfazed by it and loves life to the fullest. To keep her safe, Blue Belle will need a home without stairs. She’s ready to bring her boundless love, joy, and cuddles to her forever family.

Blue Belle is a cuddle bug who dreams of being your lap dog and will gladly spend her days snuggled up with you. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs outside of her home, but is still figuring out sharing her house with others. Since she has lived in a small run her whole life, being in a home with others is overwhelming to her. She would love a home where she can play, enjoy safe adventures, and get some much-needed exercise to shed a few extra pounds she’s gained. She currently weighs about 66 pounds and should lose around 10-15 pounds.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.
