Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This stunning pure white cat is 14 years young and found herself at Philly's animal control shelter after a family member developed a severe allergy to cats. They were heartbroken to surrender her and had nothing but good things to say about Sugar. The shelter is no place for a senior cat and thankfully, Sugar caught the eye of a foster family and is now safe and sound and looking for a home!
Sugar is very affectionate! She loves to be pet and scratched on her head and back (not a huge fan of having her paws and belly touched) and will bump your leg and lean against you for love. She also enjoys finding a corner to curl up in, sprawling out in a sunny spot, and resting on the bed. She loves laying on the bed with her foster mom and making biscuits with her hands. Sugar isn't a big fan of the other cats in her foster household, and spends most of her time in her own room because of this. She’s had mixed reactions to dogs at adoption events so we think at the age of 14, she'd be happiest in a home without other pets or with chill older dogs who won't bug her much. She has done well when meeting children but we think she'd most love older kids at her age.
Sugar was treated for an upper respiratory infection which she contracted in the shelter and ear infections, both of which she healed from well. She has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and takes one pill twice a day with her meals which she takes without issue and which is relatively inexpensive. Sugar is otherwise feeling (and looking!) better than she has in a while since her medical needs were addressed.
Sugar is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also FIV/FeLV negative. Interested in adopting her? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org.
