All about Lazlo (12 year old male) from his foster home!
How would you describe the cat's general personality? Lazlo is a friendly, loving, playful, curious, smart, happy 12-year old cat. *Please note - Lazlo's prior owner also reported that he possesses these qualities. However, it should be noted that they also shared that once or twice a year, he has been known to lash out unexpectedly. Due to this, we recommend that Lazlo be an only cat with no children in the home.
Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes. I can jump into a petting session with him anytime, anywhere. He loves it. Big purring.
If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? Head, back, and cheeks especially
Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? Like most cats, he isn’t sure if he likes his belly touched. Sometimes he will give some playful rabbit kicks if you touch his belly but we recommend respecting his boundaries to avoid nibbles and scratches.
Does the cat come on your lap? Every day. He does an adorable act of losing his balance and then PLOP he lands in my lap in some outrageous position with his legs in the air and his head draped down like a rag doll.
Does the cat like to be held? He doesn’t mind but doesn’t actively seek it out.
Does the cat sleep in your bed? He’s not allowed to….and that serves to make it one of his greatest pleasures
Does the cat seek your attention? Yes! He’s very friendly, very social. Sometimes he follows me around like a child just to sit nearby and watch what I’m up to.
Does the cat like to play? He gets very excited about things in the air e.g. throwing a ball or dangling a ribbon. Also, he enjoys scrambling after his sushi roll which he’ll sometimes bring back and plop at my feet.
What are the cat's favorite games and toys? His small stuffed sushi roll
How vocal is the cat? Not much. Basically, he likes to say “hi” from time to time. Sometimes he’ll answer if I say “hi” first.
What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Pleasant mewls
Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes….and is learning to not scratch the rug
Does the cat always use the litter box? He’s very good, but a high sided litter box is recommended because he’s a digger.
Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No
Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No
Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Yes, love -bites with heavy purring.
Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? no
Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? Yes, he’s very tactile. He likes to touch things with his paws. He’ll rear up on his hind legs and give a huge stretch using my leg as his stretching post. Sometimes he’ll just reach out and put his paw on my hand. Also twice now, he was looking up at me very eagerly, so I bent over slightly and tapped my shoulder. He jumped right up on my shoulder and the headbutting and purring was mighty.
In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? He’s very loving, purring, and comfortable to be around but not clingy. He's always excited to see me in the morning purring, flipping, rolling around. A real sweetheart.
What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? His curiosity and spirit make him very lively and he loves to explore. This means he sometimes ends up in places where I would rather he not go such as kitchen counters. However, he’s a quick learner and is getting better about it.
