Chili earned her name by being exactly that, chill. This girl isn’t the life of the party, but there is only so much room for those, the shy ones are at the party for a connection and are the best company. Chili may come off shy at first, she likes to get to know the people she spends time with, but once you are in, you are in for love. This is a companion dog, content at your side, appreciative of everything with hugs and kisses to offer in return. Not figuratively though, she does really hug and she loves to give gentle kisses. You have been warned! Watch Chili’s Get-To-Know me video to see for yourself.
If you are someone who likes to hop in the car and take your dog along, roadtrips or errands, Chili is in! If you get the door, she already called shot-gun. The front seat is her preferred seat, obviously because it is closest to you but she doesn’t mind the backseat. Her foster has shared her love of the occasional pup-cup treat while out and about so plan on doggie-coffee-dates every now and then.
In rescue breed and age are offered as educated guesses given we do not know a dogs history but we believe Chili is about 4 years old and is possibly a Lab/ Black Mouth Cur mix and she weighs in at 67 lbs. The perfect size for hopping in the car and being able to see out of the window with no trouble at all.
Chili is a perfect putzing-around gal, whatever way you spend your time, she will be happy to be there. She isn’t going to demand attention but she will quietly check-in for some affection, follow along occasionally, before finding a cozy spot nearby to lay down. She responds positively to a connection and comforting presence without needing constant reinforcement or praise. Chili will be happy to keep you company without getting in the way.
Chili currently lives with other dogs in her foster home and enjoys a good round of chase and a little romp-around with her friends. She doesn’t need dogs to feel happy so she is a great candidate for only-dog life if that is what you are looking for. When we introduced her to new dogs, she was happy to spend time with them but didn’t make much of a connection. Although she didn’t play with any of the dogs she was introduced to, we think with time and the right connection she will show you and her new friend, a more playful side. And a bonus, Chili was perfectly respectful of out house cat, showing us she is cat-tolerant and could easily co-exist with a feline-friend.
Chili’s dream home? That is more about who is there than what. Sure a yard is great for running around and soaking up the sun, but what she really wants is someone who can understand that love takes a little time and is happy to give her that time. What’s on the other side is sweet, loving, loyal and attentive. So worth it! She has a quiet nature, with her foster sharing that she is both house and crate-trained, along with quiet in her crate. No whining or barking here, she enjoys her crate so its nothing to worry about. Wherever she calls home she is going to show you the depth of rescue-dog love. It feels amazing to be on the receiving end of something so true and moving.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
