My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grady is a lil bundle of smart & cute & sweet all rolled into one! Currently 9wks & 4.5lbs, guessed to be chihuahua/terrier mix. He loves all of the people that enter his foster home and is quick to offer kisses as well as accept hugs & pets! Grady is great with the resident dog at his foster home, with whom he loves to run, play or snuggle. Cats make him curious & interested and he’s gentle & sweet when they hang around long enough for him to make contact. Grady is working hard on potty training and he sleeps quietly, enclosed in the laundry room in his foster home, at night and when his foster family is away. Although we have little background and cannot guarantee the breed make up of our rescue pups, our best guess is that Grady may be a chihuahua/terrier mix, based only on his appearance and physical features. If you think that Grady would be a wonderful addition to your family, have fallen under the spell of his adorable gaze and are unable to control the urge to reach out and hug him… pleased complete our Adoption Application at https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application. Don’t walk, RUN! Grady cannot wait to meet you!

The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!

*please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Go meet their pets

We are not a shelter. We are a group of pet lovers and advocates who are committed to targeted rescue. Starfish Animal Rescue is a licensed rescue that is run by an all volunteer staff.
Once we rescue a dog or cat, it is placed in one of our foster homes until we are able to find it a suitable home. We are happy to set up an appointment to meet our pets once we receive and review your completed application.

We do our best to process applications quickly but please understand that we are a foster based rescue and that our volunteers work jobs; many are full time. Sending in a completed application is the best way to facilitate this process. You can go on our website www.starfishanimalrescue.com and download an application
Once your application is reviewed, we will put you in contact with the dog's foster family to set up a time to meet the pet of your choice!
Thank you for supporting our rescue and what we are trying to accomplish in southeastern Kentucky.
