Hello! My name is Baloo, and I am a spunky and silky soft cuddly chihuahua/terrier mix. I love exploring outdoors and chasing small critters (I’m great for pest control!). I’m extremely smart and love puzzles, and am in constant search for cuddles. I take some time to warm up to strangers and don’t like to be picked up, but once I’m comfortable I’ll be a permanent couch buddy (all of my previous pet sitters referred to me as a cuddly angel). I’m crate trained, housebroken, and highly food motivated. I do have anxiety- quick movements, especially when I’m asleep trigger me, so I am safer in a house with no kids. I take medication for the anxiety and am still learning not to growl when startled or around other dogs/people on walks. I am looking for a calm house with someone who can be patient with me as I learn to adjust. I promise to provide lots of love, laughter, and cuddles in return!

**If you are unable to pay the adoption fee ($250 and up), we are unable to place a dog in your care. Being unable to meet the financial obligations of pet care (recurrent or emergent) is one of many reasons why so many of these pets end up in rescue. It's not lack of love.**
We require an adoption application, and then we will check references. We also check with vets. If the person is not LOCAL then we will partner with a local animal control to complete a home visit.
There are adoption fees associated with the costs of veterinary care of the pet. We require an adoption contract to be signed to finalize the adoption process and we have an agreement that all our pets are to be Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. pets for LIFE. In other words, in the event that they can not stay in their adoptive home, they are not to be surrendered to another individual or rescue.

Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. is a non profit, all volunteer rescue working with Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. The pets are housed in individual volunteer foster homes, not kennels or shelters until they are adopted permanently. We get to know our animals and therefore can tell the potential adopter what the traits of the animal are and what home would be the best for the pet. We are dedicated to the adoption, education, rescue and transportation of the Chihuahua breed. We believe that every Chihuahua deserves a loving home.
