Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bonnie is a 3-5 year old, 30 lb chocolate sweetie and came to SOCKS after she had been in boarding for 6 weeks due to her mom’s serious medical condition. Her foster mom says she’s silly, entertaining, very loving, and affectionate. She loves kids and is good with other dogs. We think she would do best with other more playful dogs since her energy is a lot for a slower moving senior dog. She loves toys. She happily squeaks all over the place with them. She's very treat motivated, even if it's just some kibble. She's potty trained (although she may piddle a little when she gets super excited). She does love exploring the yard, so a fenced yard is good but not required. She's good on the leash. She pulls a little, but hey - she loves her walks and is very enthusiastic about them.
Bonnie came to SOCKS from a household where she had a single person family. It's clear she wasn't used to being around a lot of people, and she struggled with foster mom’s husband at first. She clearly felt threatened by him, although she was his buddy when mom wasn't home. She has definitely improved with that. It just takes her time and some patience to help her recognize that she has no reason to feel like she needs to protect herself or anyone else. She has come a long way, although from time to time, she will still bark at him. It's a work in progress.
We are very proud of how far this baby has come with the love and patience of her foster family. She is a fantastic little cuddle buddy, and she honestly wants to please. Whoever ends up adopting her will end up with a loyal companion with a lot of love in their life - she has so much to give. ❤️ Bonnie is up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested, and on monthly preventative. If interested in adopting Bonnie, submit an application at saveourcockerspaniels.org. Her adoption fee is $400.
SOCKS adopts to families in Florida, Georgia, Southern Alabama, and southeastern Mississippi. If you are out of the state of Florida, you would need to travel to Florida to complete your adoption. Please note that we do check vet references, and your current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing, and be able to provide proof of purchase of heartworm prevention. All dogs and cats in your home must be spayed or neutered. We will not set up a meet and greet until your application has been received, reviewed, and approved. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis. We will accept applications and then screen all and choose the best match. Only approved applicants will be contacted.
