Hi! My name is Hippo, and I'd say my it is very fitting for this low-rider! I came to the shelter as a stray, but I'm trying to not look at the past. I am looking at my bright-new future with my forever family! I am as sweet as can be - my tail never stops wagging! I am fairly mellow and will cuddle up with you on the couch in a heartbeat! Don't let that fool you though! I still will run and play to me heart's content as well! You really can't go wrong with a boy like me! I love all people of all ages, and I have no issues with the dogs here either! I am just a happy go-lucky boy! My one flaw that I have is that I have some allergy issues going on, but with the right treatment, it can be easily managed! All the love I give will easily make up for this though - don't you worry! Could I be your new best pal? Come meet me at the shelter and see if I could be your guy!

HSSC places animals on a first come, first serve basis. After an animal that is available for adoption has been met with, the animal’s name can be put on an application. Animals that are applied for must be adopted the same day or within 24 hours of the animal being placed on the adoption application. Exceptions will be made if any animal needs a medical procedure, but then will need to be adopted within 24 hours of being cleared from that procedure. HSSC reserves the right to accommodate alternate timelines for special needs/behavioral issue animals.
It is the potential adopter's responsibility to communicate with their landlord to contact HSSC for approval or to provide documentation stating permission within 24 hours of application submission.
It is also the potential adopter's responsibility to produce a current rabies certificate for their current dog(s) to conduct a dog to dog meet and greet within 24 hours of application submission.
