11/1/2024 - Zelda is just such a happy and loving puppy, but she needs to be in a home with no other pets as she barks at any dog she sees and acts like she wants to attack. Zelda is not treat motivated so it’s hard to redirect her. Her prey drive is on a high too and focuses on animals, birds or squirrels. She does bark at everyone, but once she meets them, she’s just all love. Inside the house she’s amazing, a total love bug, cuddler but must know where her people are, she checks on us if in separate rooms. Zelda also barks when she goes in the crate, but usually settles down. She’s hesitant to get into the crate but goes in with a little direction. When she gets excited her tail goes into turbo, she is just all big smiles, and she howls at you with excitement. Just so cute!
She is house trained and when she wants to go out, she lets you know, she howls at you sometimes and just directs you to the door if you’re not near it or if near it she’ll sit by it and let you know. She is good at the park if there are no other dogs or animals.
Evaluation Hold: 5/8/2024 - Zelda is under our mandatory evaluation period, and is not available for adoption at this time. The foster home will have the opportunity to adopt once the evaluation period is complete. If you would like to be a back-up applicant for Zelda, please complete an application at: http://flbr.org/application-form/. Please also take a look at her available boxer friends as we get to know her better.
