Ask Archer to describe his perfect home and companions and he will say anyone with a heart full of love and a warm, cozy home for a Hound mix who yearns for attention and affection and a new forever home and family.
Archer surrendered to one of our rescue partners and is now looking forward with the goal of settling into a permanent family. He is a very handsome boy with a red coat and long droop ears that match his hound dog looks. He is full grown at 2.5 years old so he should remain a medium sized dog (31-60 pounds). He weighs around 50 pounds. Archer is very friendly and has a medium energy level, making him the perfect companion for a hike or some games in the yard before he settles down for a lap and a nap. Children and dogs delight him. It is not known whether he enjoys cats.
Archer is working on his house, leash and crate training. Rescue dogs have experienced several transitions and will have accidents as they become comfortable in their new home. If crate training is planned, Archer needs a crate that is big enough for him to turn around and lie down. Crates need to be warm welcoming places and must never be used for punishment.
The world has not always been a welcoming, friendly place for Archer, but he is so ready to welcome and befriend anyone who has the time, the attention and the love to give this handsome hound.
The adoption fee for Archer is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
