Full of puppy energy, Olivia loves to run and play with anyone who is willing to do so. Be it another dog or a kid, she is game. She has not met a cat since coming into rescue. She is just over 6 months and at 22 pounds. She will probably be in the medium size range (25-50 pounds) when she is done growing.
That cute face with the flying ears and alert amber eyes let you know that she is probably a black lab mix. She has a white bib for accent with a short black coat. Notice the furrow when she focuses on you, wondering if you are thinking of playing, too.
Labs are known for their friendliness towards people. They have more than enough affection to go around for the whole family, too. Labs are intelligent and good-natured. They have plenty of energy as pups and usually like to stay active throughout their lives. As a mix she will probably have a lot of these lab qualities.
She is working on her skill set of house, crate and leash training. Daily short walks (30 minutes or so) will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. She may also enjoy going for hikes. Please note that Olivia cannot be a running companion until at least age 1 when her growth plate closes.
She will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. It will help prevent boredom. If you have a secure back yard, that will give her the freedom to play and burn off extra energy. She probably would enjoy visits to a local dog park.
The adoption fee for Olivia is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
