My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya! My name is TIMMY (in Mexico though, they call me Takechi after my rescuers favourite 70's show, Miss Comet). Here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed:  Pug

  • Age:  Approx. 3 years old

  • Gender:  Male

  • Weight:  20 lbs (9 kg)

  • Height:  34 cm (paws to top of my head)

  • Length:  49 cm (head to butt)

  • Neck:  38 cm

  • Chest:  55 cm

  • Current Location:  Mexico City

RESCUE STORY - I was sadly just dropped off at the shelter one day!! I was in good shape physically and emotionally for being left by my family. I loveeeeeeee to cuddle with hoomans I am familiar with and those I have just met! Big people guy, BUT I draw the line at kisses. Do not put that germy mouth near me I say! I have a favourite blanket that I bring with me everywhere I go. I will take it outside to the yard in the day, then back in at night. It's my safety blanky.

TEMPERAMENT - I am a pretty chill dude, totally pug energy! I like to rest and cuddle. The volunteers tell me I am a favourite because I am so well behaved when I get to go on walks! I don't engage when other dogs bark at me either, I just chill the heck out. Eat, sleep, walk, repeat makes Timmy a happy boy!

ENERGY LEVEL - Low - I enjoy getting outside on a walk, but I am truly a couch potato.

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – Unknown. While I’m a pretty sweet boy, I haven’t had much exposure to kiddos at the shelter.

  • Dogs –  Yes, I'm good with other dogs!

  • Cats – Unknown about how I would live with one, but I am tolerant of the ones that are around the shelter.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – I am a super star according to the volunteers! I may show some regression when I go to a new home, but I will re-learn quickly.

  • House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.

  • I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax ($750 + 5% GST and 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

DISCLAIMER:

Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
