My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya! My name is ANNA (and yes, my sister is Elsa and yes, we are princesses). We are a BONDED PAIR and MUST go to a home together! Here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed:  Lab Retriever mix (but really, we don't know what I am. A classic "mexi-mutt" I'd say!)

  • Age:  Approx. 6 months old

  • Gender:  Female

  • Weight:  27 lbs (12 kg, but I will still grow a little!)

  • Height:  59 cm (paws to top of my head)

  • Length:  75 cm (head to butt)

  • Neck:  32 cm

  • Chest:  57 cm

  • Current Location:  Mexico City

RESCUE STORY - I was found in the middle of the road with my sister, Elsa. Our rescuer was on the way to work when she spotted us! We were only about a month old, so she took us with her to get us the help we needed! Since then, we have gone to work with our rescuer everyday. We love to play together (seriously, we love it!) so we need to be in a home together. We also get to go on these things they call "road trips". How cool is that! We love the car! We even get to go to restaurants down here in Mexico with our rescuer, so we get a lot of socialization. She is a super star and we are going to miss her so very much, but we know it means we are going to have an amazing life in the Pacific Northwest.

TEMPERAMENT - I'm told I am pretty sociable with humans (especially the smol ones)! I also love to play with other dogs, but it takes me longer to warm up to strange hoomans and dogs that it does my sister. She really helps me, and I couldn't live my life without her. We share such a close bond after that first month of life, she really is my rock! Once I warm up to people with lots of sniffs and treats, I am super playful!

ENERGY LEVEL - High - I am a very energetic pup! I will need lots of mental and physical stimulation. I get a lot of that with my sister, but it would be so nice if our future family liked to adventure and go outdoors! We get to go to the doggy park almost every day right now and I love it.

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – Unknown in a home, yes on the streets. I've interacted with lots of kids when we're out and about, but I've never had one in the same house as me!

  • Dogs –  Yes, I love other dogs! Especially Elsa.

  • Cats – Unknown in a home, yes on the streets. I've interacted with cats when we're out and about, but I've never had one in the same house as me!

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – Work in progress since I am a pup, but I'd say I am doing pretty good so far

  • House trained – Work in progress, but still pretty dang good! Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.

  • I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $784.00 CAD including tax ($700 + 5% GST and 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
