My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fable is a charming cat who loves to stay close to his people. He's happiest when sitting next to you, enjoying gentle pets, or curling up by your feet on the couch. With his calm demeanor, Fable spends most of the day relaxing, often snoozing in his favorite comfy carrier filled with blankets.
Though fairly low-energy, Fable has playful bursts in which he enjoys gentle play-wrestling, especially pouncing on your feet or hands. During cuddle time, Fable has the sweetest habit of lying on his side and making air biscuits-a delightful prancing motion that's sure to melt your heart.
A loyal companion, Fable follows you around the house, often settling at your feet, even in the bathroom. His loving personality makes him the perfect blend of cuddle buddy and quiet shadow, always happy to share your space and affection.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
