Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Max arrived at SSH on 11/4/2024. He's timid at first but will come around when given some time.
He's not shy about giving kisses and pawing at your leg or hand for extra ear scratches but it is understandably cautious. He will likely sit in a corner and observe his surroundings for the first day or 2.
Max tolerates other dogs but tries to be dominant with other males and doesn't want to share snuggle time with other male or female dogs. He's incredibly sweet but we feel he would do best in a home where he is the only pet. We also think he would do better in a home with no small children.
Max is very treat motivated and loving with his people. He was passed around to several homes before coming to us so we're really excited to find Max his final, furever home!

Additional adoption info
Our adoption process all starts with the application. Most have a pet in mind already but not always. We'll then schedule a time for you to meet the pet. From there we conduct a home visit and meet all members of the household and all other pets. We want to make sure all pets show potential to get along with the new pet. Should all go well, you'll sign the final adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and take home your new buddy!
