Houdini is a new arrival here at the Shelter. This adorable Jack Russell is estimated to be around 8 years old. He is very sweet and hasn't met a stranger yet. He loves to sit in laps and give kisses. Houdini is pretty lively for an older dog so he is looking for an active family who will take him on fun adventures. He loves long hikes through the forest. Houdini needs a single-family home as he can be quite vocal when he wants something. He met one of our other dogs through the fence and was friendly and seemed happy to meet her. Since we don't have a history on him, we will not place him in a home with young children. Houdini is up to date on all his vaccines and will be neutered before adoption.

Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.

We review applications in the order received and do call vet references and contact landlord if you rent.

The Medfield Animal Shelter's mission is to rescue lost or abandoned animals and provide for their comfort and safety until they are reunited with their owners or placed in new homes. We are a no-kill shelter, which means no pet will ever be euthanized because it has run out of time to find a home.
